Caroline Nistrup came through for the Danish team on todays
round
Great excitement today about who will win the eight and final
spot in tomorrows match play. The battle began early this morning.
The battle ran between Denmark, Germany, Finland and England.
The Danish players woke up to a new
start on this Tuesday morning after a first round of stroke play
yesterday that left them on a 12th place out of 19
nations. But it was easy to see that something has changed
overnight. Daisy Nielsen was the first Danish player to feel the
greens and fairways and she a perfect day on the beautiful set
course. She finished the day in -2 under par.
The Danish player Mette Kryger also did better than the day
before. Mette could turn in with a 74 - 3 over par. Now it was up
to the last two players to lead the way to the final spot. It was
straightforward to see that Nicole B. Larsen's score wasn't going
to be the one that would count in the Danish Score. The weight was
on the shoulders on Caroline Nistrup, and she really came through.
She finished the day in par and Caroline turned in her scorecard at
half past four - now there was not else to do than wait for the
last German, Finish and English players to turn in theirs. Five
teams did at this point already qualify because of a better score.
The teams that already have qualified for tomorrows match play are:
Ireland, Sweden, Belgium, Spain and France.
It was late afternnoon before the last players could turn in
therir scorecards. Alot of players and guest were alle waiting by
the scoreboard to get the exiting informations. At half past four
the last scorecard was signed and the scores was punched into the
system. England, Finland and the Danish players all got a spot in
tomorrows match play.
