    Caroline Nistrup came through for the Danish team on todays round

     

    Great excitement today about who will win the eight and final spot in tomorrows match play. The battle began early this morning. The battle ran between Denmark, Germany, Finland and England.

     

    The Danish players woke up to a new start on this Tuesday morning after a first round of stroke play yesterday that left them on a 12th place out of 19 nations. But it was easy to see that something has changed overnight. Daisy Nielsen was the first Danish player to feel the greens and fairways and she a perfect day on the beautiful set course.  She finished the day in -2 under par.

    The Danish player Mette Kryger also did better than the day before. Mette could turn in with a 74 - 3 over par. Now it was up to the last two players to lead the way to the final spot. It was straightforward to see that Nicole B. Larsen's score wasn't going to be the one that would count in the Danish Score. The weight was on the shoulders on Caroline Nistrup, and she really came through. She finished the day in par and Caroline turned in her scorecard at half past four - now there was not else to do than wait for the last German, Finish and English players to turn in theirs. Five teams did at this point already qualify because of a better score. The teams that already have qualified for tomorrows match play are: Ireland, Sweden, Belgium, Spain and France.

    It was late afternnoon before the last players could turn in therir scorecards. Alot of players and guest were alle waiting by the scoreboard to get the exiting informations. At half past four the last scorecard was signed and the scores was punched into the system. England, Finland and the Danish players all got a spot in tomorrows match play.
