The final foursomes after nine holes

French Manon Gidali awaits her putt on hole six
The two final foursomes have finished the first nine holes and
the race is tight. The first foursome between Charpier/Boutier and
Maguire/Maguire was all square until the eight hole, which is a par
3. French Charpier drove her ball into the left side lake, and they
had to drop a new ball. That mistake ended that hole, and Ireland
took their first win. Ireland is still 1 up after nine. The second
foursome between Bonetti/Gidali and McCarthy/Meadows are not as
close a race as the first. On the fifth hole McCarty landed in the
rough and Meadows didn't manage to do any better - the second shoot
ended in the left side lake. At that point France was 4up. Ireland
did win another - but after nine France is 3up.
